Stubborn Luna

Luna is walking furiously lately.  She will walk a perimeter to get to where she wants to go instead of crawling a shorter distance.  She even walks on the bed which is amazing because that takes more balance than a hard surface.  She is pretty determined.  You know what else she is determined to do?  Rather, it's more like determined NOT to do.  She is determined not to eat and therefore frustrate me like no other.  She doesn't want to be fed, so I gave her the spoon to feed herself.  However, she doesn't want to do that either.  She throws the spoon on the floor. Fine, then eat with your God-given chopsticks, will ya?  Nope, she'll squish the food between her itty bitty fingers instead and paint the tray with the food.  Does it get to her mouth?  No.  She doesn't even try sometimes.  Sigh.

But she smiles.  She will flash that beautiful smile of hers my way and my heart melts.

Luna has been reading more lately.  I've decided that books are replaceable and gave her the paper books in addition to her board books.  She's only ripped out one page thus far and that was only because the book itself was heavy. She seems to favor this 101 Dalmations book, which happens to be the only hardcover book in her collection, and thus the only book that stays open.  Isn't this just adorable?  She reads every morning in bed as she waits for her half-asleep mother to get herself together for the day.  When she's done reading, she crawls to the corner of the bed that's not guarded by the rail or bookshelf or pack n play and faces the door.  She's ready to head out for the day.

We also bought some felt to make some puppets.  Mr. Rabbit is the first of our creation.  It turned out better than expected, so yay!
